A collection of forty hadith about the closest Companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, this text provides a glimpse of the greatness of the most blessed among the Companion, and the greatest person ever to live who was not a Prophet, Abu Bakr al-Siddiq رضي الله عنه.
Imam al-Suyuti explains the purpose of this collection as follows:
"All praise and gratitude is for Allah, the One Who made Abu Bakr al-Siddiq رضي الله عنه the best of this nation, and raised his station above all stations by increasing him in belief and absolute certainty to be the leading scholar of Islam....
"To proceed, I have compiled forty hadith in this book...a concise text that will be easy to memorize for whoever wishes to do so from the righteous among us."
Rather than a comprehensive biography, this is a concise introduction to the greatness of Master Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه. Thus, Imam al-Suyuti concludes the text by stating,
"The reader should know that there are many hadiths on this topic, but this is simply a short sample for whoever wishes to become acquainted."
This edition provides Arabic text with full vowels with English translation on facing pages. The Companion who narrated each hadith is given, with the full chain of narrators given for some hadith. Citations for the source of each hadith are also included.
