LIVES OF THE COMPANIONS: BOOK ONE

Lives of the Companions is the Endearing Story of a Group of Men Chosen by Allah SWT and raised by the last Prophet ﷺ to change the history of mankind forever. Their unwavering faith brought the Byzantine and Persian Empires to their knees. Their Passion to spread the Prophetic message sent them to distant lands where the eternal light of Islam extinguished the darkness of disbelief. Their fear of Allah SWT revived their nights with the remembrance of Allah SWT while their courage forced their enemies to submission. Their wariness of the worldly life made them austere and generous towards others. Today, their spiritual legacy endures in the Umma. We are obliged by their sacrifices and struggles to love them. The Prophet ﷺ said, " Those who love them, love me, and those who love me, Love Allah SWT".

 

About the Author

Maulana Yusuf Kandhelawi was the second ameer of the Tablighi Jama'at and son of the illustrious Maulana Ilyas Kandhelawi (1885-1944), the founder of the work of Tabligh. He completed the Lives of the Companions (Hayat al-Sahaba) in 1959, which came out in Arabic, but was later translated into many languages and expanded to four volumes with annotations and commentary by Shaykh Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi (1913-1999) and Shaykh Abul Fatah Abu Ghudda (1917-1997).
